Tunnels Beaches Wedding Photographer

As a Bristol-based wedding photographer, I’ve seen my fair share of beautiful venues, but Tunnels Beaches in Ilfracombe? This place is on another level. A private beach, breathtaking coastal views, and—on this particular day—absolutely banging weather. If you’ve ever been to the UK, you’ll know that sunshine is never a given, so the fact that we got blue skies, golden light, and not a single drop of rain? That’s basically wedding lottery jackpot.

The couple said their ‘I dos’ in one of the most idyllic outdoor ceremony spots you could ask for—right by the water, with waves gently rolling in and seagulls (probably eyeing up the canapés) gliding overhead. The atmosphere was relaxed, the vows were heartfelt, and the backdrop? Unreal. There’s something about ocean views and salty air that makes everything feel even more romantic.

After the ceremony, we headed down to the golden sand and rugged rocks for family portraits. Now, wrangling a whole wedding party for group photos can sometimes feel like herding cats, but this lot? Absolute pros. And honestly, what’s cooler than having family portraits with the Atlantic Ocean crashing behind you? 10/10 location choice.

If weddings were rated by guest energy levels, this one would have scored off the charts. From the moment the drinks started flowing, there was non-stop laughter, dancing, and general top-tier banter. No stiff formalities here—just a full-on celebration by the sea, exactly how it should be.

And then came the golden hour magic. As the sun started to set, we snuck away for couples’ portraits, and WOW. The whole sky turned a fiery shade of orange, casting the most incredible glow over everything. I mean, I’m a sucker for good light, but this? This was something else. The kind of sunset that makes you stop, stare, and momentarily forget to press the shutter (don’t worry, I snapped out of it).

Tunnels Beaches delivered everything you could want for a beach wedding and more—stunning scenery, an epic atmosphere, and one of the best sunsets I’ve ever shot. If you’re planning a relaxed, fun-filled coastal wedding, this venue should be top of your list. And if you need a photographer who loves capturing natural, joy-filled moments (and who will absolutely not say no to post-ceremony chips), you know where to find me. Get in touch!
